Daimler trainees present Mercedes-Benz F-CELL Roadster Concept

Some people are so nostalgic they would love to buy a brand new version of an old car. This is what has made VW New Beetle, Ford Mustang (this last two models) and Chrysler PT Cruiser have huge sales numbers (at least at first). What if it was possible to buy the first vehicle of the world, the Benz Patent Motor Car, from 1886? It is still not possible to do so, but you can imagine that based on F-CELL Roadster Concept.

This vehicle has been created by more than 150 trainees from Daimler AG and is able to reach a top speed of 25 km/h, possibly because it would not brake in a safe way with these narrow bicycle wheels. It may not be fast, but it can go far away, more specifically 350 km, powered solely by its fuel cells, able to produce 1.2 kW. If anyone is patient enough to travel at this pace...

Besides fuel cells, F-CELL Roadster also features drive-by-wire commands that are united on a joystick at the centre console. These would be the technologies it would have to convince the world to adopt, if it had the same mission Benz Patent Motor Car had ahead of it. At least one of them has manage to fulfill it.
