Mazda will present two new Mazda3 in Geneva, i-stop and MPS

Although Mazda is not taking a striking concept car to Geneva, the Japanese car company will have two world premieres at the event, both related to the successful Mazda3, also known as Axela in Japan. They are two new versions of the car, i-stop and the MPS, or Mazdaspeed Axela, the flagship of Mazda3 range.

As for i-stop, it features Mazda's solution for a start-stop system, which saves fuel in heavy traffic situations. The car is powered by a MZR 2.0 DISI (Direct Injection Spark Ignition) engine. Both technologies, combined, provide over 12% in fuel saving compared to the regular Mazda3 that is sold in Europe.

Mazda3 MPS, on the other hand, brings a powerful engine, the MZR 2.3 DISI Turbo powerplant, able to produce 258 bhp and to take the drivers of this mid-size hatchback to driving pleasure heights. We still do not have any details on performance numbers, but they shall be revealed very soon.
