Hyundai presents the ix-onic concept car, or the future ix35, Tucson's replacement

We have already presented to you the sketch of the concept car Hyundai will present at Geneva Motor Show. Called ix-onic, the vehicle will reach production lines and will be named ix35. In other words, you are facing the replacement for Tucson for the first time.

All engines will be four-cylinder powerplants, including the turbodiesel 1.6-litre GDi that produces 175 bhp and powers the concept car. It generates only 149 g/km of carbon dioxide, what will turn the ix35 in one of the cleanest SUVs around. Besides the engine, ix-onic also uses ISG (Idle Stop & Go, for saving fuel in traffic jams) and dual-clutch automated manual gearbox. Tucson's replacement is 4.40 m long, 1.85 m wide and 1.65 m tall. No word on wheelbase, so far.

I do not like Hyundai's new technology. None of it seems to last. How do you feel about this?

I don't have quite an experience with Hyumdai cars to state if they are trustworthy or not, JM, but most of the people I know that do have this experience is quite happy with their cars.

All the best,

Gustavo
