Even though it looks nice, this mid-size sedan still earns more points with us due to its technical specs. It is a 4.74 m long, 1.82 m wide and 1.51 m tall vehicle with a wheelbase of 2.75 m. It is only 3.5 cm larger than the previous Legacy, but its wheelbase is 8 cm larger.
There are three options of engines, all of them boxer units, in order to have a low centre of gravity. The entry-level is a 2.5-litre four cylindre able to generate 172 bhp at 5,600 rpm and 230 Nm at 4,000 rpm. It may feature a six-speed manual gearbox or a CVT, called Lineartronic.
The six-cylindre unit is a 3.6-litre that produces 260 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 335 Nm at 4,400 rpm and it can only have a five-speed automatic transmission, while the most powerful engine Legacy can have is the 2.5-litre four cylindre turbocharged unit. It pumps out 269 bhp at a 5,600 rpm and 350 Nm between 2,000 rpm and 5,200 rpm.
